Intriguing premise, beautiful MCs, Boston setting--what could go wrong?Lots.I won't bother recapping the story, because I don't think this book is worth the time it will take you to read it. The characters are drawn with all the subtlety and nuance of a Magic Marker and are little more than 2-dimensional cut-outs. The writing is both pedestrian and bad. Not only does the author not know basic English vocabulary, misusing "phased," as in "phased in," for "fazed," as in "taken aback." Her grasp of elementary formal written English grammar is at a (bad) grammar school level, routinely using adjectives where adverbs are obviously required, as in "he looked at me worried" instead of "worldly," the correct form.Evidently, Lynn Morin is of the school of thought that believes the content of a story can be adequately conveyed without the need for style, grammar or syntax.She's wrong.Don't waste your time on this waste of bookshelf space. This was a very good story. I enjoyed the characters and storyline. Levi and Charlotte were great together. The only thing that bugged me about the book was the wording. Throughout the whole book you read, does not, did not, do not, I will, I am, can not, will not. To me people don’t talk that formal all the time. I found myself reading the words as doesn’t, don’t, didn’t, I’ll, etc. that’s the way people talk. That is my only complaint with this book. I would recommend getting it as it has a good story line and likable character.
